Marquee Wedding in the Yorkshire Dales
Published on 18th December 2025 by Jenny Mason

Louise and Ashley married on Louise’s family farm in the Yorkshire Dales earlier this year. We caught up with them to hear about their fabulous day!
Key facts
Location: Hellifield, near Skipton, North Yorkshire
Date: Saturday 14th June 2025
Marquee: 14m x 38m (there were a lot of evening guests!)
Tell us a bit about you both
Me and my husband have been together for 13 years before getting married. We lived on our parents neighbouring farms and got together at age 16 & 17.

Had you always wanted a marquee for your wedding?
I’ve always wanted a marquee wedding on my parent’s farm and Ashley being so laid back was happy to do that.
Did you find planning and co-ordinating the suppliers easy to do?
I loved dealing with all different suppliers. Everyone was very easy to deal with and I also enjoyed the fact we had flexibility to use what suppliers we wanted and had options.

What made you choose the sailcloth tent from us?
I always loved the look of the sailcloth tent; it looked amazing in my dad’s field, it’s such an elegant shape and I remember being surprised at how spacious it was inside. There’s so much flexibility with the layout in a sailcloth tent.

How was everything on the day?
Everything on the day ran perfectly! We couldn’t have asked for it to go any better. The weather was meant to be awful (thunder storms) but it just rained heavily as I was going into the church, other than that it was great! I got sunburnt on my shoulders and we had some amazing pictures in front of a rainbow! Poor Dave spent all day putting the sides up and down as the sun went in and out behind the clouds haha!

What was your most memorable moment?
Our most memorable moment was probably how drunk everyone was at the end of the night; that’s always a sign of a good do! And the fact that when the DJ turned back up again in the morning some of our guests were laying asleep on the dance floor!
What advice would you give to anyone else planning a marquee wedding?
My advice to anyone wanting to book a marquee wedding would be to just do it! You won’t regret it; it is so worth all the stress in the run up!

Thank you..
I just wanted to send you a quick email to say thank you so much to all the team for our amazing marquee!
We loved every part of it and it looked amazing throughout the day and night.
Special thanks to Dave who has been fab throughout this process and being on standby on the day to sort any problems (I think he spent most of the day putting the sides back up and down for our guests). The effort he put in didn’t go unnoticed!
I have attached an amazing picture my guest took at the end of the night, if you wanted to share it. It looked spectacular with all the lights in the dark.
Please pass on my thanks to all the team they worked very hard to make our day as special as it was.
Louise & Ashley xxx
