It’s safe to say, the past 4 months have thrown much of life as we know it on it’s head! That said, although plans have had to be changed, rescheduled and put on hold, there is still much optimism within the events industry.
It goes without saying that this Summer is nothing like any of us ever imagined. Next year, on the other hand is looking like it will be a really fabulous year of celebrations, and for that we cannot wait! Alongside all of this, we’re seeing a gentle shift in people’s plans and expectations.
Garden parties & celebrations
One thing that lockdown has highlighted is the importance of the people that are closest to us. Enquiries for smaller celebrations have increased, with people wanting to spend quality time with those closest to them. Think small, open sided stretch tent at home in the garden, with casual seating and festoon lighting. Fire-pits outside and a lovely weekend of casual food, drink and laughter. This style of event is relaxed, with plenty of fresh air and time to chat. It’s a world away from the festivities and formalities of a large wedding, but this is a great alternative in the current climate.
Although large gatherings are not currently permitted, we have a few couples who are planning a smaller ceremony and afternoon tea or barbecue reception later this summer. They are then planning a larger celebration next year. This is a great compromise after the past few months, and allows a little more flexibility with the bigger party planned for next year.
We have a range of different sized tents that would be suitable for smaller parties and celebrations. Our Aurora Sailcloth Tent can be a simple circular tent (with removable window walls), and our Hybrid Stretch Tents can either come with walls, or simply as the stretch roof. We even have Bell Tents that come with bedding, furniture and everything you need if some of your guests wish to stay overnight (at a distance!).
